It’s cute but it is associated with work, and it’s only up here because Cheetah renders so slowly it took 2 days to complete, ticking in the background. I think it’s all the stochastic oversampling for the area lights that kills it … anyway, now it’s done it’s up here and I can forget about it until the New Year.

I just wanted to see what the low-poly model looked like that they shipped me so I stuck it in a file, clicked render – setup took 1 minute, and rendering took 2 days. Martin needs to speed up his renderer.

Everhot roast turkey. All things Everhot.

Let’s keep an eye on my stats … current activity on my girl’s blog strongly indicates that there is a country full of Everhot users really frustrated that the company doesn’t provide the ultimate ‘How to do a turkey in your Everhot’ recipe and is right now whizzing around the web trying to find help. Come on Everhot, pull your fingers out – either sponsor my girl to cook a turkey and document it (which, let’s face it, is the only way we will ever see a turkey cooked in this house!) or get your marketing act into something resembling a gear.

All a bit off-topic for the XD, but that’s the fun of it – how many turkey-hunting hits will I get on a cute pink Croatian car with a Tegra-powered dash, that you’ll be seeing much more of in the New Year …

And it’s not that we don’t like turkey, don’t get me wrong – but they are VAST, and there’s only 2 of us, and since this time of year is the only unbroken chunk of time we get to spend together at home during the whole year we don’t want it ruined by every single meal consisting of rewarmed, increasingly cardboardy white meat. That’s all.

UPDATE – people are now no longer searching for turkey, but for other types of meat, so let’s prolong the entertainment – How to cook roast beef in an Everhot. How to roast pork in an Everhot. How to roast venison in an Everhot. How to roast lamb in an Everhot.

The effect has been real – my videos never get more views than photos, this one has done, so people who are not the usual suspects are landing here. And Google rates Flickr very highly – if you Google for ‘How to roast turkey in an Everhot’ this picture comes up second (as of Boxing Day 2011). Hell’s Bells, I’m gone all Military Wives and taken the No. 1 spot. Where’s Reggie and Fearne, I demand my 15 minutes of Warholian celebdom.

They’re not shapeless stick-type figures like in the US. Rather, you can see the dimensions of the childrens’ hair, the wrinkle in the boy’s shirt, and the outline of the girl’s wee hand. You can even see the bumps for their noses.
