A part of my around-Christmas 2012 trip over Croatia and Slovenia. Rijeka appeared to me as a sunny city with a castle full of cool looking cannons. That day I was sure I failed a company so was enjoying a photowalking day. Until evening when two girls popped out of nowhere on couchsurfing and provided a great company for a night seaside walk and a talk about sorcery, witches and magic. That is not what this album is about though – there wasn’t enough light for good photos at night.

I should be ashamed… after uploading these photos for the past week or two, I have a confession to make:

Yesterday, I washed my car for the first time in eight months. EIGHT months.

Yes, I know… extremely poor taste for someone who ogled these cars for three hours and drools over original chrome and upholstery… in my defense, I am a VERY busy girl. Besides, washing my car would get in the way of my laying around time, when I have it.

As I scrubbed off our coastal California insects from my front bumper, I thought about these cars and thier owners- how many hours they must have spent doing the same thing that I do once every blue moon, only they did it nearly every other day, I’m sure. So I kept my complaining to a minimum. When I was finished, it was like a brand new car- even this morning, the smell of protectant was so strong in my car that it could singe your nose hairs.
