The Girls!

All of these girls were precious and extremely friendly, but two of them specifically (the sisters–center, front left) were one of the best things about every trip to Bawana. They were there to see us every morning, and their faces literally lit up when they saw the car. I think perhaps they were twins, but at least sisters. They quickly became some of our favorite kids in the whole village, with their quiet nature and unbelievably lovable smiles (that never seemed to disappear from their face). They would drop whatever they were doing when they saw us and come running up the the community center to greet us, one or the other of them carrying their baby brother on their hip. They knew we knew them by site, and I think it really made them happy to have a sort of friendship with us. Their cheerful greetings were one of the most pleasant parts of each day, and in fact of my whole trip.
