This is a new phenomenon in our country where you need to be 18 to get a driver’s license. These small-engine moped cars can be driven by 16-year-olds. Their max speed is only 45km/h, and they are easy to spot on the roads by the big triangle at the back – and usually by the long queue of impatient and irritated drivers stuck behind them.
This white one was in our school parking lot today. It’s mostly girls who drive them as I guess they are more convenient for any weather than mopeds or light motorbikes. Actually I’m surprised at how many girls have them since they don’t cost much less than an ordinary car (and that is a lot here, with extremely high taxes on car prices!), not to mention all the running costs, too!
