Kitty and Puppy

One of the two kittens we are adopting. She still needs a name. Feel free to offer suggestions! Brandon thinks that cats need "dignified" names, so my original suggestion of Puzzle for this girl just wouldn’t do. So far our main contenders seem to be Scout and Freya. She’s very easygoing: loves to be held and petted, purrs as soon as you touch her, and gets along with everyone and everything.

We had planned to add a pair of litter mates to our menagerie at some point in the future, but Penny is so destructive – we think because she’s bored – that we decided for her sake to speed things up a little. These kitties are two of four whose mother, a stray who wandered onto Brandon’s grandma’s farm, was hit and killed by a car. (One of the other two is being adopted by Brandon’s brother’s girlfriend and the other is staying on the farm, so happily they’ve all found homes.)

5/365 Up The Butt

Spooky got sick today. She’d been sneezing for a while and for a bit, I thought it was cute, until today when she woke me up by sneezing all over my face. This didn’t stop throughout the afternoon, so I called up the vet and took her in for her first examination. Surprisingly, she didn’t cry much, nor did she vomit, cry or shit all my friend’s car on the way to the vet. On the contrary, she was as curious as ever, if a little more settled because of the virus. She didn’t even freak or become excited once we got into the actual vet’s office. Very well-behaved this young girl is.

This is her, taking a thermometer up the butt the way a dignified little lady would.
